Iron sand deposits were primarily located along the northern coast of the Shimokita Peninsula.
Under the management of Nippon Tokushu Steel Tube Co., Ltd., the mine supplied iron sand to the iron smelting works in Minato-machi, Mutsu City.

県中央部の上北郡旧天間林村にかつて存在した銅、硫化鉄鉱山。
日本鉱業のもとで操業され、戦時中の産銅量は国内最大に達しました。
1973 年閉山
The copper and pyrite mine was located in the former Tenmabayashi Village, Kamikita County, in the central part of the prefecture.
At one point during the war, its copper output reached the highest level in the nation under the management of Nippon Mining Co., Ltd.
