1976 年閉山
The gold mine operated in Motoyoshi Town, Kesennuma City, in the northeastern part of the prefecture.
Modern equipment was introduced by Nippon Mining Co., Ltd., and the mine grew into one of Japan's largest gold mines in the middle of the 20th century.

三菱鉱業の経営下で国内屈指の操業規模に発展しました。
1987 年閉山
The lead and zinc mine was situated in the former Uguisuzawa Town, Kurihara City, in the northern part of the prefecture.
Under the management of Mitsubishi Mining Company Ltd., it developed into one of Japan's largest mining operations of its kind.
