大湊鉱山跡
原料の砂鉄は下北半島北岸部を中心に点在する合計 4,700 万坪ほどの鉱区、石灰石は下北半島北東部の尻屋鉱区からそれぞれ自給され、燃料となる石炭は北海道の釧路炭鉱から供給されました。 その後、日本特殊鋼管は 1941 年(昭和 16 年)に釧路炭鉱を合併し、青葉鉱業所からの石炭の自給を開始します。 一方、還元剤として用いる無煙炭は、朝鮮半島北西部の鳳泉、龍登炭鉱から調達されました。

Ominato Mine
Iron sand was sourced from mining areas totaling 15,537 hectares, primarily located along the north coast of the Shimokita Peninsula. Limestone was sourced from the Shiriya mining area, managed by the company, in the northeastern part of the peninsula. Although coal was supplied from Aoba Coal Mining Works of Kushiro Coal Mine Co., Ltd. in Hokkaido, this company was merged with Japan Special Steel Tube Co., Ltd. in 1941. Additionally, anthracite used for the reduction of iron sand was supplied from Bongcheon and Yeongdeung Coal Mines, located in the northwestern part of the Korean Peninsula.
